ANTIGEN, originally founded in Göttingen in 2002 and active in Prague since 2018, is a melodic crust punk band with a Czech-German lineup. Featuring former members of bands like Dread 101, Fear of Extinction, Jonestown and Angry Brigade the trio blends catchy punk with raw crust and driving drums to create a unique sound. Steffi sings and screams, sometimes melodically, sometimes aggressively, against power structures, capitalism, and war. With their high-energy mix, ANTIGEN pushes genre boundaries and has made a name for themselves in the international scene.

BIO

ANTIGEN was founded as a punk band in Göttingen, Germany in 2002 by Steffi (bass and vocals), Mücke (guitar), and Wally (drums). The band released their first album, Fluch der Väter, in 2006 under the newcomer label Skulls in Heaven. Their second LP, Ware Leben, followed in 2009. That same year, Wally left the band, and Schmied (formerly of Dunkle Tage and Red With Anger) joined as the new drummer.
In 2016, Mad Butcher Records released the EP Ourselves. After that, the band went on hiatus. During this time, Steffi spent more time in Prague and became the vocalist for the Czech hardcore band ANGRY BRIGADE from 2016 to 2018.
In 2018, Steffi decided to revive ANTIGEN in Prague, recruiting new band members from ANGRY BRIGADE. This lineup shift significantly influenced the bands sound, incorporating more crust and hardcore elements. The current lineup features Svata (formerly of Dread 101, Exekuce, Angry Brigade) on drums and Roman (formerly of Fear of Extinction, Jonestown, Angry Brigade) on guitar.
In the spring of 2020, ANTIGEN released their third album, Dust & Ashes, in collaboration with international labels. In early 2022, they followed up with the split LP A Sense of Dread alongside the Swedish band Socialstyrelsen.
